Registry operator Identity Digital has announced it is launching its new gTLD, .CONTACT, later this month. It is an unrestricted gTLD therefore no eligibility requirements apply. The launch schedule and fees are as follows:
Com Laude’s fees and ICANN’s USD 0.18 per-domain-year charge are additional, and VAT will be added where applicable. For this launch, multi-year registrations are not available for TMCH Sunrise domains, although multi-year renewals will be available after the initial term.
Registry operator Google has announced the introduction of a complimentary Registry Lock service. This service provides an extra layer of protection for domain names against unauthorized changes at registry level. The service covers all of Google’s new gTLDs, such as .APP, .DEV, .NEW, and .PAGE. Com Laude fees and VAT will be added where applicable.
Having completed Sunrise I and II phases, this new gTLD moved into General Availability phase on 16 September 2020. By way of reminder, the .GAY Registry will be donating 20% of the registration revenue to LGBTQ+ charity partners, including GLAAD and CenterLink. The Registry also has a .gay Rights Protection Policy in place and requires us to state “the use of .gay for anti-LGBTQ content or to malign or harm LGBTQ individuals or groups is strictly prohibited and can result in immediate server-hold. Prohibited behaviour includes harassment, threats and hate speech”. The full Policy can be viewed here.
Registry operator GMO Registry, Inc. is running a pricing promotion on new registrations of .SHOP domains for the month of September 2020. New registrations will be offered at the reduced fee of USD 1.50 for the first year of registration only, the discount does not apply to premium names. Com Laude fees and the ICANN USD 0.18 per-domain-year levy are additional. VAT will be added where applicable.
