Verisign, the registry operator for the .COM gTLD, will increase the annual fee for .COM domain names. The change in pricing will be effective from 1 September 2022 (04:00 UTC) and will apply to registration, renewal and transfer of registrar domain transactions.
This is the second price increase for .COM domain names since 2012 and follows an amendment to the Cooperative Agreement between Verisign and the United States Government Department of Commerce, made on 26 October 2018. Most notably, the amendment enables Verisign to increase the price of a .COM registration/renewal by seven percent per year in the final four years of each six-year period – the first six-year period commenced on 26 October 2018.
You may wish to consider renewing your .COM domain names before this price increase comes into effect – domains can be renewed for up to ten years.
