Newsflash: New domain regulations in Monaco and Launch of Top-Level Domains in .TZ – Tanzania

New domain regulations in Monaco

NIC Monaco has announced that from 1 March 2022 it will only be possible to register domains under the top level .MC. Foreign companies can apply for a .MC domain if they own a registered trademark in Monaco or an International trademark designating Monaco.

New registrations under second-level domains, such as .TM.MC, will no longer be permitted, although it will be possible to maintain and renew existing domain registrations.

Launch of Top-Level Domains in .TZ – Tanzania

From 1 March 2022 it will be possible to register domains under the top level .TZ. The launch will start with a Grandfathering phase before opening for General Availability:

Priority Category 1: 1 March to 31 May 2022 – Grandfathering: holders of domains registered before 1 March 2022 under a third-level extension (.CO.TZ, .OR.TZ, etc.) can register the matching domain name under .TZ.
Priority Category 2: 1 June to 30 June 2022 – Grandfathering for domains registered between 1 March and 31 May under a third-level extension (CO.TZ, .OR.TZ, etc.) can register the matching domain name under .TZ.
Priority Category 3: 1 July 2022 – General Availability.

Where there are multiple applicants for the same domain name within the same Priority period, then the applicant with the domain name with the earliest creation date and/or time will be given priority to register the domain name.

The requirements are the same as for the second-level domains, i.e., a local administrative contact is required. Com Laude can offer this.
