.OM – Oman amendment to eligibility criteria

We have been advised that Oman’s Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (the “TRA”, responsible for domain names in Oman) have announced a change to their eligibility criteria for registration of .OM domains. Foreign companies can now register their domain names without providing evidence of a trademark registration, as long as the domain name applied for does not conflict with any registered trademark in Oman.

There is no requirement for the domain name to match the company name.

.ASIA – 2026 Pricing Promotion

The registry operator for the .ASIA gTLD, DotAsia Organisation Ltd, has announced it will run a pricing promotion on .ASIA domain names from 1 January to 31 December 2026.New registrations will be available with a 68% discount on the first-year regular registration fee.

Revised Terms and Conditions for .SE (Sweden) and .NU (Niue) domains from 15 January 2026

The Swedish Internet Foundation has revised the Terms and Conditions applicable to the top-level domains .SE and .NU with effect from 15 January 2026. The new Terms and Conditions can be viewed here for .SE and here for .NU.

The revision relates to Section 7.2 of the Terms and Conditions of Registration and introduces a new right concerning geographical indications in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) procedures, in accordance with applicable EU regulations.

As a domain holder you do not need to take any action in respect of this change, the domain name registration is not affected although we would recommend that you read through the new Terms and Conditions.
