TWNIC, the Registry for .TW domains, has announced that it will be implementing important changes to the bundling of IDN domains Chinese.TW and Chinese.台灣(.xn--kpry57d) domain names.
At the moment when a Chinese.TW domain name is registered the Registry bundles the corresponding Chinese.台灣 automatically. Also when the Chinese.TW domain name is renewed, the Chinese.台灣 equivalent is also renewed with no additional cost.
As of 7 January 2020 TWNIC will no longer bundle the Chinese.TW and the Chinese.台灣. Each TLD, .TW and .台灣, will be treated separately and the registration and renewal fee will have to be paid for each variation.
For existing ASCII.TW there will be a Grandfathering period so registrants have priority to secure the ASCII.台灣 equivalent. The Grandfathering period will be from 7 January 2020 to 10 February 2020. Eligibility: Registered ASCII.TW domain names prior to 10 February 2020 are eligible to get their matching ASCII.台灣. First-come, first-serve registrations of ASCII.台灣 will start on 13 February 2020.
In the coming weeks we will provide additional information on the policies regarding the unbundling of Chinese-IDN and Chinese-IDN.台灣(.xn--kpry57d) and the Grandfathering process.
PNINA, the registry for .PS domains, has announced that one-character domain names will be open for registration on Monday 06 January 2020 at 10 am local time, UTC/GMT +2H.
The registration will be open to any applicant on a first-come, first-served basis and no documents are required.
The price will depend on the domain as one-character domains are considered Premium, prices can be checked here https://www.pnina.ps/premium-names/.
One-character domains under the Second level domain (.com.ps; .net.ps; .org.ps) are not premiums and will be registered based on the regular price and procedures.
Com Laude fees are additional and VAT will be added where applicable.
