International Men’s Day is a globally recognised day raising awareness of many key issues that men face, such as suicide, mental health and prostate cancer.

According to statistics from the house of commons International Men’s Day debate in 2022, on average, c12,000 men die from prostate cancer every year. This is 33 people per day. Sir Chris Hoy, Olympic Gold Medallist Cyclist for Team GB, recently announced his terminal diagnosis for prostate cancer. With 2024’s theme for International Men’s Day being positive male role models, Chris’ bravery to speak out has helped raise awareness to the most common cancer in men. According to NHS England, there were 14,478 visits to their symptoms advice website, compared to 1,876 in the previous week – a rise of 672%.
