From 1 February 2019, “DNS Flag Day”, DNS systems around the world are going to disable some backwards compatibility features. This means that old or misconfigured DNS servers will no longer function correctly. Specifically, zones hosted on servers that do not support EDNS0 queries will fail to resolve correctly.
Com Laude has supported EDNS0 for several years, as have many vendors, but it is possible that some servers that are being used with different providers have not been updated, or have EDNS0 functionality disabled. We recommend that you test domains held on in-house or third party DNS servers for EDNS0 compatibility.
You can find information on DNS Flag Day at http://dnsflagday.net/, where there is a link to a tool through which domains can be tested.
If you would like to discuss moving your domains onto Com Laude’s servers, please contact your Client Manager or get in touch with us
