.co Colombia

The .co TLD is managed by CentralNic Limited acting on behalf of Consorcio Equipo PuntoCo (the “Registry”). The Registry was appointed by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (“MINTIC”) of the Republic of Colombia as the designated operator for the .co country code. Should you wish to register .co names with us or transfer .co names to our management, the Registry imposes certain conditions. As set out in our Terms and Conditions, by placing an order with us you unconditionally agree to be bound by these conditions.

You acknowledge and agree to comply with all applicable

(a)  Industry standards, policies, procedures, and practices;

(b)  Registry Policy, procedures, and practices implemented by the Registry from time to time including:

(c)  Operational  standards,  policies,  procedures,  and  practices  for  the Registry TLD established from time to time by the Registry in a non-arbitrary manner as communicated in the Registry technical documents and other communications and applicable to all registrars (“Operational Requirements”) upon the Registry’s notification to Registrar of the establishment of those terms and conditions; and

(d)  laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, ordinances, and decrees including those of the Republic of Colombia and any agency or quasi-agency of that government, including without limitation MINTIC.

You acknowledge having read and understood and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policies adopted by ICANN, available at https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/help/dndr/udrp-en  (the “UDRP”), as the same may be amended from time to time.

You acknowledge and agree:

  • that the Registry reserves the right to deny, cancel or transfer any registration or transaction, or place any domain name(s) on registry lock, hold or similar status, as it deems necessary, in its unlimited and sole discretion: (1) to comply with specifications adopted by any industry group generally recognized as authoritative with respect to the Internet (e.g., RFCs), (2) to correct mistakes made by the Registry or any registrar in connection with a domain name registration, (3) if required by the Registry policy, court order or other authorities, (4) to avoid any liability, civil or criminal in the part of the Registry, as well as its affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, and employees, (5) to comply with any applicable laws, government rules or requirements, requests of law enforcement, or any dispute resolution process, or (6) for the non-payment of fees to the Registry;
  • to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Registry and its subcontractors, and its and their directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees and expenses in accordance with the German legal provisions regarding such fees and costs as arising out of or relating to, for any reason whatsoever, your domain name registration. This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination or expiration of your registration agreement;
  • that any violation of the .co registry policies by you may result in application of consequences (consistent with applicable law and any related procedures) including suspension or deletion of the domain name; and
  • that you are especially prohibited from distributing malware, maliciously operating botnets, engaging in phishing, piracy, trademark or copyright infringement, fraudulent or deceptive practices, counterfeiting or otherwise engaging in activity contrary to applicable law, and that any evidence of any such activity by you may result in application of consequences (consistent with applicable law and any related procedures) including suspension or deletion of the domain name.

You consent to us collecting and otherwise processing your personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy and gTLD Data Processing Notice in accordance with the  Registry Policies for the duration of our management of your .co domain names. You consent to the collection, handling, storage and transfer of your Personal Data in accordance with the Registry Policies for the duration of our sponsorship of the registration.

Reseller Terms

If the registered name holder is your client and you are a reseller of our services, in addition to the terms above the following terms apply:

  • You must comply with all of the terms and conditions of the .co Registry Registrar Agreement between the us and the Registry  (“RRA”) and all of our Registrar’s covenants, obligations, representations and warranties as set forth in the RRA.
  • You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Registry (by express reference or by reference to all registry operators) and its affiliates and subsidiaries, as well as their respective owners, directors, managers, officers, employees, representatives, agents, service providers and contractors from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses of any kind, including without limitation reasonable legal fees and expenses (including on appeal), arising out of or relating to (a) any claim or alleged claim relating to any product or service you are reselling; (b) any claim or alleged claim relating to any agreement with any Registrant that registers a Domain Name through yourself as a reseller; (c) any claim or alleged claim relating to your domain name registration business or other activities, including, but not limited to, your advertising, domain name application process, systems and other processes, fees charged, billing practices and customer service; and/or (d) any breach by you of any of the terms, conditions, covenants, obligations, agreements, representations or warranties set forth herein. This indemnification obligation survives any termination or expiration of our  agreement with you and/or the RRA.
    • You acknowledge and agree that the Registry reserves the right upon written notice to require us to terminate any reseller’s right to provide registrar services with respect to the Registry TLD if such reseller fails to comply with the terms of the RRA (a “Reseller Breach”) and to take any measures the Registry deems necessary to prevent such reseller from accessing the Registry System. Unless the nature of the Reseller Breach is such that it is incapable of being cured or the same breach has been committed previously by the same reseller, Registry’s notice shall provide a 10-day cure period.
