New gTLD Update – .BOT and .SPORT

.BOT – Limited Registration Period extended

Registry operator Amazon has extended its second Limited Registration Period to 1 December 2018. During this phase, registrations are to be open to customers who own, operate, or manage bots (bot developers) built using the following botkits: Dialogflow, Microsoft Bot Framework, or Amazon Lex.

.SPORT

Further to our previous announcement, we now have the Registry prices and pricing structure for the new gTLD .sport. Note that this TLD is reserved for sport-related entities and activities. This means the Registrant must be an individual or a legal entity with a nexus to the .SPORT community at the time of registration and thereafter. Specifically, Registrants in .SPORT must be recognized performers, organizers, promoters or supporters of federated Sport, or belong to categories of Registrants recognized by the .SPORT Policy Advisory Board (PAB). This includes athletes, clubs, governing bodies, events and corporate partners such as sponsors and media. Registrants are required to state their intended use of the domain and the Registry will validate the applicant’s nexus. These requirements apply in both the TMCH Sunrise and General Availability phases.

If you would like to apply for a .sport domain name and are unsure about your nexus, please contact your client manager.
